effective and productive ministry.
ever have those days where you wish you could get a few more hours out of just to simply accomplish all that’s on your plate. the plate never seems to be empty-if it was, then we need to wake up and smell the coffee. the plate just get larger and larger. its like my desk-i envy so many that can have a clean desk and feel good about themselves. i don’t think my desk is ever clean unless i clear it off to clean the glass which takes place every few weeks or when the glass is so covered in dust and smudge marks…the plate can be full of activity, full of movement, but are you being effective and productive?
i have some big projects i am working on and it never seems to end…but at the end of the day when i leave i know that i have done my best to plan prepare ad execute. i can’t stand things left undone, it just unnerves me. so, when your plate is so overwhelmingly full what do you do to not lose your mind and remain productive and effective? plan, prepare and execute…if you don’t have a plan you will operate in crisis mode and never feel like you are going anywhere. so planning is a big key! then prepare for the projects enough in advance so that it gives you time to make adjustments. if you don’t prepare well you wont execute well. you will react instead of act. lastly in order to be effective you need to execute. basically i look at this as the follow thru principle. you need to be able to make solid decisions, and follow it up! don’t put things off, don’t make excuses just follow thru! execution is a big part of productivity and effectiveness!
if you truly want to be effective and productive in ministry, then you must have a plan (vision), you must know how to prepare (study and set up) and finally you have to execute (finish strong).
