inspection…

i heard it said from a wise person once what you can’t expect what you don’t inspect. inspection is never really a fun activity. right now i am being audited for a few lines on my 2006 tax return…now that’s exciting! inspection…look at (someone or something) closely, typically to assess their condition or to discover any shortcomings. to examine (someone or something) to ensure that they reach an official standard. if there is no standard to live up to, then their wont be much to an inspection. i remember as a kid going to the vehicle inspection place to have our vehicles inspected. they would look at the lights, brakes, tires, and even under the car for mufflers. we had this 51 willys jeep that we used to go surf fishing on the beach in flagler county and it really should have never passed an inspection. it had no seat belts, no turn signals (unless you stuck your arm out the car) can you imagine sticking your arm out now to indicate you are turning people would lose their mind over that. well it passed with a little coaxing of the inspection official that was into old vehicles.

inspection is something you have to do on a regular basis. if you truly want to get what you expect, then you have to go through the inspection process. inspection…the road to continued success! what do i inspect? events, services, flow, leaders, activities, follow up…pretty much everything we do. i have found that you have to examine whatever you do in order to do it better! don’t go onto the next thing, before examining what you are presently doing. inspection is a good thing!

well it seems to be flying by and we have so many more things to tackle. today we had a chic pool event at my house…great times for girls to connect with my wife and some leaders. tomorrow night we have a dodgeball tournament and monday we head off to camp with 50 students. busy times at crave! while we are gone chic-fila is sponsoring a block party on wednesday night for our church (i hear they are gonna launch cows off the roof). when we get back we have a fundraising event for fine arts, a water park trip to typhoon lagoon, a benefit show to sponsor fine arts (numerous fine arts rehearsals), campmeeting (by far the most exciting 3 days of ministry at calvary every year) and then we head off for the national fine arts festival in charlotte, NC. oh i nearly forgot that i am gonna take a few days to vacate with my fam before fine arts and after.

summer…good times at crave!
