current series in crave…

reallife-1

The current series we are in deals with real life. Real life is….Think about it, there are a lot of things we could say that real life is. Some of my students would say real life is all about the bling bling or the girl or the guy or the ability one could possess. Real life is found in nobody else but JESUS!

John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Life – Zoë – alive, real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, responsive, to enjoy real life…to breathe, to be among the living (not the dead)

Too many of our students are non-responsive when it comes to the things of God. its time to wake up this generation and lead them to a greater experience. Real life begins in christ. Motivation is the key…if we are motivated or moved by God we will discover what real life is all about. If I live in him and he lives in me, then my life will be motivated by him! My response will be His! Real life is what it’s all about.

i will go anywhere but back!

today i heard an amazing message on the life of ruth and the decision she made to never go back to moab, but to cling to naomi and go forward! i was so moved by the message to never go back. it’s too easy to throw in the towel and give up and give in and go back to your old life! when Ruth went forward God led her to the right field where she found the eyes of grace fro the right man and hope was found in the right place. if we would simply work in the right field (the field of grace) we will find favor (handfuls on purpose) and provision that comes only from God! make up your mind to never go back but to go forward and walk in the grace and the knowledge of Christ. Great word…wish you were there!

wednesday night message was a memorable night…let me explain. i woke up wednesday morning in cashiers NC and was bound a determined to get back to Crave for service. we headed off at 7:30 and plugged in our destination and the wonderful gps said we would be back by 5:00 PM. awesome…i could go home change some back and set up the powerpoint and preach. well, that’s before we drove through rain and road construction through the entire state of South Carolina. by t he time we stopped at starbucks, stopped at a fruit stand to buy some peaches, ate some lunch, filled up on gas…the gps read 6:30…ouch no time for anything and i needed to change. we blew through jacksonville taking the 9A loop and arrived at the church at 6:28. i knew that tonight was gonna be special.
we started the service and the crowd was decent, i ran around and set up some details, then jumped into service. I felt such an urgency to preach what God had given me, and the altars were full.

What time is it?
1. It’s time for God to move!
2. It’s time to not miss God moving!
3. It’s for God to move at your school!

“if you don’t move when God moves, how can you expect Him to move when you need Him to move?”

we closed the altars with students around the altars and our leaders anointed them wit oil for the new school year. God is moving in crave! can’t wait to see all that He will do this year!

next week we continue the series on what time is it…it’s time to see a harvest!

long day…but worth it all in the altars!

campmeeting…thoughts from day 1

July 27, 2008 Leave a comment

tonight kicked off campmeeting at calvary and the speaker was bishop andrew merrit. tonight he preached on faith extenders and told some pretty amazing stories about faith. mark 11:22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. tonight was a simple message with no deep theological truth. that’s what he said…well he anointed people and the power of God came and touched lives. we were picking people up off the floor everywhere. i watched as one of our staff pastors was ready to catch 2 at a time…i caught a few as well. others just fell out. God was rich today.

the most profound thing to me happened in the third service when he spoke on the widow from 2 kings 4 her son died and she laid him on the prophets bed then she went and found the prophet to tell him her son had died and he was a promise and she wanted him back. the prophet came back and laid on the boy and prayed. he came back to life…well things, die in all our lives and he had the whole service write down some things that are dead in their lives whether it was a business, relationships or finances…and the second our pastor laid on those things that died you could feel the anointing in the building! God was truly rich today!

great start to our summer campmeeting!

tomorrow night Tommy Barnett comes to town!
