Hustle…work hard at leading

My my life Journal encouragement today…HUSTLE!

Scripture

“Whoever has the gift of encouraging others should encourage. Whoever has the gift of giving to others should give freely. Anyone who has the gift of being a leader should try hard when he leads. Whoever has the gift of showing mercy to others should do so with joy.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:8‬ ‭NCV‬‬

Observation

If you have a gift use the gift you have …encourage, give, mercy, lead…the leader that does not try hard is not using their gift. Just because you have a gift does not make it easier to do life…life still comes at you hard. You have to posture yourself to work harder.

Application

We often think a gift will make it easier to live, to serve to grow…but there is a part of you that has to be attached to the gift! Effort! Your work ethics do your effo to try hard matters. The gift to lead is a great gift to use to impact people, but if we sit on our  gift, if we only use our gift when it benefits us, then we are not truly using our gift.

My encouragement today is to hustle! I can still hear my little league coach yell at us when we did not move fast enough…HUSTLE!!  My challenge today is to try harder using the gift to lead.  We see so many that have so much potential, but they choose the easy route, they choose the average route.  Don’t be that person!!!  Choose to lead from a place where you lay it all out on the field.  Hustle is what we do, and when we hustle and use the gift to lead we will see more move around us!

Lord, help us to always remember to give our very best, to work harder and try harder…and most of all HUSTLE!

Who’s in the lead?

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people. (‭Exodus‬ ‭13‬:‭21-22‬ NKJV)

The pillar of fire by night and cloud by day was so visible, there was no mistake who was leading.
The fire and cloud led them on the journey.  It was the Lord hat went before them.

Too often we look for the visible sign to lead and guide the way on the journey of life, but God has not left us. The fire is still there and his presence will not leave us.  Who is leading your life? Is one question, but a better one may be who are you following.  God’s presence and Power are so evident when we choose to follow him.  It’s moments that we choose to follow our feelings and our peers that lead us from his presence into a path that we have chosen.  Life is a journey…who are you following?  We want to see the fire and smoke, but why not read the word and pray and by faith walk in his presence. He will lead and guide us.

Lord…help us to be followers of Christ.  It’s really simple…we pursue you and follow you, then you can lead us.
